Exploring EG4’s Monitor Center Updates

Over a year has elapsed since the release of the 18KPV inverter in April of 2023, and since then EG4 Electronics has made numerous enhancements and updates to its monitor center. Join us as we delve into the changes that have shaped and refined the EG4 electronics monitor center, paving the way for a more intuitive, efficient, and enjoyable energy management experience.

Demo Station

Firstly, upon accessing the login screen, you’ll notice a new option: “Visit Demo Station.” This feature grants you access to a demonstration of our inverters we have set up in our R&D workshop  at EG4 Electronics. Immerse yourself in a full-range view of these demonstration units and gain insights into their functionality and capabilities.

Parallel Sync

Once you’re logged in and navigating to the monitor tab on your customer account, you’ll discover the new “Parallel Sync” option. This feature is designed for users with multiple inverter setups, allowing you to combine all outputs into a single screen. With just a glance, you can now monitor the entire system in real-time, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.

PV Module Monitoring and EG4 Battery Module

Furthermore, we’ve introduced additional options for premium Tigo account holders, including PV module monitoring and EG4 Battery Module monitoring. These enhancements provide visibility into your energy system’s components, empowering you to identify and address any potential issues with precision and ease. Integrating multiple interfaces into the EG4 web bonitor allows users to see all of the necessary system information from a single source

Start Battery Backup

We’ve also introduced a “Start Battery Backup” option. This feature enables you to keep your battery charged or charging up to the specified maximum, providing invaluable peace of mind during anticipated or preplanned grid outages. With the ability to enable or disable this option at your convenience, you’re always prepared to weather any storm with confidence.

Maintenance Tab

The maintenance tab of the EG4 electronics monitor center has undergone significant expansion, offering users a plethora of new settings and functionalities to fine-tune their inverters to perfection. Let’s break down these updates step by step, starting with the Remote Set tab.

6000 XP Inverter

Users of the 6000 XP inverter may notice a revamped set of settings tailored to the unique architecture of off-grid and hybrid systems. This includes adjustments for voltage, frequency, and time frames for AC bypass. Additionally, you have the flexibility to set charge current limits, charge voltages for open loop configurations, and logic for AC and generator charging. Notably, the Max input size of your generator is now customizable, crucial for Gen boost scenarios, along with refined discharge logic settings.

18K PV Settings

The 6000XP was added to our inverter line-up back in October of 2023, and with it came a unique settings page tailored to the off grid focus of the inverter. These settings include an off-grid mode, enabling your inverter to function independently without grid interconnection. Furthermore, features like AC coupling offer expanded capabilities not found in the 6000 XP model, providing users with even more versatility in their energy management strategies.

Working Mode

Introducing the  Working Mode tab, boasting a redesigned user interface for seamless commissioning. Here, users can select their desired mode and fine-tune settings accordingly, with the added flexibility of setting start and end times for customized operation. The familiar settings from the previous tab remain, ensuring continuity and ease of use throughout the configuration process. The 18kPV, 12kPV, and 6000XP all have an in-depth working mode configuration, but different layouts tied to each inverter’s classification. For more information about our Working Mode tab, take a look at our previous blog.

Weather Optimize

Moving on to the Weather Optimize tab, users can now configure their systems to automatically charge the battery based on local weather conditions. This proactive approach proves invaluable in anticipating power loss during inclement weather, akin to the manual battery backup setting but with the added convenience of automation.

Remote Update

Lastly, the Remote Update tab introduces a game-changing feature, allowing users to update their inverter’s firmware remotely via the EG4 monitoring site. With just a few clicks, you can ensure your system stays up-to-date with the latest firmware releases, enhancing performance and security. Simply click the standard update button, and your inverter will be automatically updated through the dongle. You must keep the inverter online during this process for seamless updates and uninterrupted operation.
