Welcome to EG4 Electronics, where we break down the barriers to energy storage with our cutting-edge technology. Our mission is to help you embrace the power of tech by showcasing the real value our devices bring to your life. Let’s delve into the world of Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) spacing for our EG4 WallMount batteries and rack-mount six-slot battery cabinets, all designed with your needs in mind.
Understanding Safety Standards
At EG4, we prioritize your safety by adhering to the highest industry standards. UL9540 and UL9540A, approved by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI), are pivotal safety requirements that address compatibility and safety, including fire safety hazards, ensuring the grid independence of our solar power solutions.
Compliance with UL 9540
For us, compliance is not just a checkbox; it’s about providing you with the best. The International Fire Code (IFC), International Residential Code (IRC), California Fire Code (CFC), California Residential Code (CRC), and California Electric Commission (CEC) mandate BESS to be listed in accordance with UL 9540. According to UL 9540, the separation between batteries should be 3 ft (91.4 cm).
EG4 PowerPro Series Certification
Empowering you with reliability, our EG4 PowerPro series, including WallMount, EG4-LL (6 slot cabinet), EG4-LL-S (6 slot cabinet), and LifePower4 (6 slot cabinet), has successfully passed rigorous testing in accordance with UL 9540A performed by ETL. Remarkably, the units were tested and passed with a minimum recommended spacing of 30 cm (12 inches), allowing us to reduce the 3 ft horizontal spacing requirement between units to 30 cm (12 inches).
Installation Spacing Requirements
Explore the ease of EG4 battery installation with these specific requirements, unlocking both simplicity in deployment and significant space and cost savings. Lowering the spacing requirement not only simplifies the installation process but also effectively reduces cable lengths, providing an efficient solution for field applications where the original 3ft spacing requirement may pose challenges:
EG4 WallMount Batteries:
Minimum spacing requirement: 30 cm (12 inches) between multiple EG4 WallMount batteries (See Figure 1).
EG4-LL, EG4-LL-S, and LifePower4 Batteries:
Minimum horizontal spacing requirement: 30 cm (12 inches) between two EG4-LL, EG4-LL-S, and/or LifePower4 6 slot battery cabinet pairs (See Figure 2).
EG4 PowerPro series ESS batteries stand as the gateway to achieving energy independence, adhering to the rigorous standards established by UL9540A and UL9540. To ensure a hassle-free installation, consult the batteries’ installation manual available on EG4 Electronics – Batteries.
