EG4 Electrónica

Grid Services MA

Program Overview

The EG4 Grid Services MA Virtual Power Plant Program is established to encourage the discharge of stored battery energy during specified seasonal peak periods. Through participation in this program, customers are presented with opportunities throughout the year to supply battery-stored energy back to the grid at times of highest demand.

Participants receive compensation based on the measured performance of their battery systems during scheduled events. The higher the efficiency and reliability of system performance during these peak periods, the greater the potential rewards available to customers.

How It Works

Enrolled battery systems provide backup power in the event of outages and support the electrical grid during peak demand situations. During designated seasonal dispatch events, batteries are discharged to alleviate strain on the grid.

Participating Utilities

  • Eversource (Eastern and Western MA)
  • National Grid (Central and Eastern MA)
  • Unitil (North Central MA)
  • Cape Light Compact

Incentives

Larger battery configurations (16kWh or greater) may be eligible to earn up to $1,000 per year, and earnings can often be combined with Connected Solutions incentives where applicable.
